Dear son or daughter,
Your mom is a slacker. At least about documenting things. I'm very very sorry that you'll probably never have extensive scrapbooks documenting your precious life. You'll probably only have tons of unedited photos on an external harddrive. I love you no less though, I promise.
XOXO,
Your Mom (and current incubator)
So I think last time I posted to this blog I was 6 ish weeks and feeling pretty cruddy. Things have changed thankfully for the better. :) I'm 14ish weeks now. Let me see if I can catch up.
On January 5th I had my first appointment with the midwife (Soheyl). She's very nice and very supportive. They all looked at me like I had two heads when I said I had a c-section with Dash because of size. And especially when I told them the size he was. I have my next appointment February 6th, and we'll schedule the big ultrasound at that appointment.
I told my boss and he was supportive. I also told my coworkers and friends and they were all very excited. I think I've told everyone now, I'm afraid someone is going to pop up who I haven't told and have their feelings hurt. I hope that's not the case!
Morning sickness dropped off at 8.5 weeks, thankfully, and heartburn dropped off around 10 weeks. I'm sure that one will come back though.
We heard the heartbeat at 12 weeks and 6 days, whatever day that was. (Sorry!) I heard it again around 13.5 weeks so I guess we're officially in the clear now. That was my go ahead for telling everyone.
I think that's the end of the update. I'm pretty sure I've completely progressed out of normal pants into maternity pants. Yay! (and by yay, I mean, boo.) I need to get a few more pairs, the ones I have that fit have a weird belly panel and Motherhood has a cool new "secret belly" now that rocks. Hopefully in the next month or so I can pick a pair up. Good ol' Motherhood. :)

Feeling Nice and Cruddy...
When I was pregnant with Dash, I had very few pregnancy symptoms. I didn't even know I was pregnant until I was 6 weeks along, and after that I just felt queasy if I didn't eat for a while. Not this time! I feel queasy a lot this time, ever since about a week and a half ago and I'll be 6 weeks on Wednesday! My stomach has been hurting from all of the growing pains and I'm already having crazy pregnancy dreams. I guess it's all good, as long as I have symptoms I know everything's probably ok and this is the really scary part of pregnancy when I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that everything's going ok. Any little indicator that it is is welcome for me, even if eating has lost a little bit of it's pleasure. :)

Telling the Dixons
Sunday we traveled down to Pinson to celebrate Thanksgiving with John's family. His sister is in town with her four kids from Germany, so the Dixon household was loaded with kids! Eight, I think. We had a great time and ate some good food. Dash got to rough house around with his cousins and wore himself out.
We also told John's family about our family expansion. We were debating on telling them, it's so early. (5 weeks tomorrow, hooray!) Ultimately John decided to tell them and his mom was very excited. This is the tenth grandchild for her! I'm glad they were excited!
In baby news, I read on babycenter's weekly updates that BDV2.0 is the size of a poppy seed right now. Isn't it amazing that something so teeny can turn out so perfect? That 10 fingers and 10 toes could ever form from something the size of a poppyseed?
Check out this website for pictures of what the baby looks like now. I love this man's work.

4 Weeks!
You know the most wonderful thing about the first trimester? When you first find out you're pregnant you can kind of skip a few weeks. Like I've only known I was pregnant for 2 days and I'm already 4 weeks pregnant. :) Hey, it's the little things.
I'm so nervous during this stage; analyzing every twinge along with everything I eat. The new study on peanut butter during pregnancy being related to asthma, well, that just knocks out half my diet. My snack of late has been peanut butter on whole wheat bread. I hope that one's not true.
I'm excited about every little baby related thing I see, slowly realizing I can knit teeny tiny things and put them on MY baby again. Hooray! Like these: http://www.purlbee.com/the-purl-bee/2008/11/14/whits-knits-baby-mocs.html I can't wait to make those!

More on the BFP...
John and I decided to start trying in late October and I actually got pregnant on our first cycle. All our dates are measured by October 22nd, 2008 (making me due on July 30th, 2009, I think). I was anxious, and started testing way earlier than I could possibly have expected to see anything. Finally, on Saturday (six days pre-missed-AF, I know, I'm nuts), I got an ever so faint line after letting the test stand there FOREVER. I decided to test again Monday morning (today) and sure enough, it wasn't too faint anymore.
So that's our very short story so far on the new pregnancy.
As far as the Dashman, he had his 18 month appointment today and is as healthy as a horse. 33 3/4 inches tall, 26lbs 11oz. 90th percentile height and 75th percentile weight. He's saying a ton of words (25 or so) and picking up more every single day. He hugs me and kisses me and melts my heart everytime I'm around him. It's amazing to get some affection back from someone you've loved for so long.

Welcome!
So, our little family has been in existence for a while now. We even have our own family blog elsewhere. (Check out Team Dixon). What in the world would prompt me to start a NEW blog?

THIS. :) Our little family of three is about to become four. Well, "about" is relative I guess. There actually won't be a fourth Dixon running around for 8 months or so. :)
So here's the plan. I'm going to keep this blog private and unsearchable until we're ready to share the news with the world (9ish weeks or so?) and then I'll link to it from our other blog. This is going to be the blog solely of my pregnancy and our kiddo, Mr. Dash Dixon himself. There will probably be a few duplicate posts on each blog, but I'll try to keep all of the mind-numbing pregnancy details on this one. :)
